Donut Castles

The craziest ideas emerge from Western Washington and I can't quite determine what causes them. Perhaps its the gusty wind that makes it difficult for me to walk, let alone the fact that it likes to blow my backpack off. Or perhaps its the lack of meat in an effort to save our friends, the cows, who would happily chomp away at our flesh if they only had the right set of teeth.

But whatever the case may be, there is something about Western that gets the brain spinning, although for good, that has yet to be seen. None of these ideas, however, involve creeping me out so I consider that a plus from what I am used to. Our recent topic of interest has been clubs, originating from me deciding to start up a Murder Mystery club, (Foulplay) and some unusual and perhaps illegal clubs have emerged.

1. A Murder Mystery Club, but with a twist. We go around and solve campus murders. However, as campus murders are not in an abundant supply, we create our own. Think of it as Clue, Colonel Mustard may have committed the crime...but he searches for them just like everyone else. In Quinn's words, "I think its...me in the dining hall with the rope. Gosh darn it! It was me in the dining hall with the candlestick". It's like supply and demand...we have a demand and we need a supply. This was the reason we decided to take out the word "murder" from the club name, for fear it would spark this idea.

2. The arson club. Lucky for us, the school will provide us with 50 dollars which we will spend every cent on matches.

3. This idea coincides with the arson club...as a club event of sorts. We will go bowling, but the pins will be sticks of dynamite and the ball will be covered with the stuff that makes matches. Rolling the ball will create fiction, causing the ball to explode into flames and ignite the dynamite.

4. However, the grand finale to our brainstorm is a donut oligopoly. Using our munch money remaining at the end of the quarter, we would buy every donut on campus. However, since buying merchandise and selling it is most likely illegal, our new idea is to use 300-400 dollars to buy donuts and then constuct a donut castle.

Like I said, I think we have a little too much times on our hands here...
