Transformers: Robots in Disguise!

My Review of Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.

I walked into Transformers 2 with low expectations. One, it has Shia Labeouf, two, they are Hasbro toys taking over the world, and three, its a sequel. After two and a half hours, I'm still not sure what to think or how to give this a final grade.

It had everything I expected it to have. Uber power sources, Megan Fox, explosions, and plenty of robots in disguise. However, there were also multiple flaws with the movie. Some of the transformers are ethnic stereotypes, like the black twins, who "arn't much for reading", sporting gold teeth and generally looking like hicks. We are constantly beaten over the head with the idea that Megan Fox is attractive, just in case we had forgotten, reminded of this by testosterone fueled robots and creepy secret agents. There were lots of pre-teen sex jokes and humping dogs. People change clothes randomly a few times, giving the audience an unnecessary show. And of course, the dialogue is usually cringe-worthy, consisting of "the decepticons must be stopped!" and "I am Optimus Prime!".

However I was entertained. It's like the Twilight for boys, their treasured transformers are now suddenly taking over with world with countless explosions and destruction. Forget about the weak story and the shallow characters, They are robots in disguise! Girls like sexy sparkly vampires and boys like talking robots. Yet however terrible the story gets or how much the dialogue resembles Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, you can't help, but keep watching.

In Cinetopia, the sound was spectacular and my chair rumbled with every explosion, which is to say, the entire movie. The movie was filled with cool expensive-looking action scenes. Even with two and a half hours, I wasn't bored, more like entertained and slightly amused. However, I doubt anyone else but hardcore cinematic reviewers will look past the explosions and destruction. For those people wanting to be blown away, they should see a different movie.

So what grade to give this? My expectations were met, yet it wasnt a great movie. So...

B for entertainment purposes
D for....everything else.

I love your review. I would also like to say that they included too many jokes that were supposed to be funny such as "Where are you located?" "Under the robots scrotum". The love between Shia and Megan, I think, was also too much in the front. "You say it first!" AW BABY -_-
